When I was little I use to nurse injured birds back to health. Birds are a ‘bit of the wind’ and have always amazed me. Obviously I enjoy honoring them in paint.
Learn how to paint feathers and watch the beautiful Blue Jay come to life in this oil painting speed video demonstration! I hope you enjoy viewing this video as much as I enjoyed making it. Let me know what you think…

Lori. Thank you for sharing your “process”. It is fascinating to see how you shade the colors
to create depth and three dimension to the birds. Keep on painting;you are wondeful.
Laura, I really appreciate your encouraging comment. Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts. I love painting and sharing my tips!

I am glad you enjoyed this little video. Sometimes birds seem to paint themselves and the demo went really well.

Thanks for sharing this video. You make it look so easy. I wish it were that easy for me. Alas, I have a long way to go.
Hi Georgie,
Don’t be too tough on yourself, the time-lapse speed painting makes it look much easier! I have been painting birds for ever it seems, and I learn something new each time. Thanks for the nice comment.
