More About Me:  Besides being an artist and blogger, I am a busy single mom,  outdoor enthusiast, nature lover, bird nerd, quote junkie, animal lover, gardner, hiker, skiier, mountain biker, traveler, beach-lover, horseback rider, teacher, student,  and more…

I’ve always loved birds…when I was little, I would try and capture the birds that flocked to my yard.  Well, that never worked, so I decided to capture them on paper instead.  I have been drawing and painting ever since. My art career developed in between loads of laundry and changing diapers!

I illustrated for:

  • Ducks Unlimited
  • The Nature Conservancy
  • The Wolf Education Research Center
  • various trout & duck stamps
  • books

I apprenticed with many of top wildlife master artists including:

  •  Robert Bateman,
  • John Serrey-Lester
  • Carl Brenders
  • Vivi Crandall
  • Guy Coheleach
  • Robert Moore
  • Scott Christensen
  • Jo Anna Arnett
  • and more…

I paint still life, landscape and plein air paintings.  My still life arrangements usually include birds or butterflies and are inspired by the Dutch master techniques. These elegant paintings echo the delicate balance between nature and man with hopes of a harmonious coexistence.

My landscapes range from outdoor plein air paintings to studio works reminiscent of the 19th century Barbizon tradition and Luminist painters.

Publications & Media:

  • Western Art Collector

I am a member and exhibit with Oil Painters of America in National Exhibitions. Selected paintings can be seen each year at the American Art in Miniature Show at the Gilcrease Museum. Currently, I am ranked by WeFollow.com as the one of the “Most Influencial Artists” on Twitter!

I still have a lot more to learn and do within my own art career. Thanks for joining me on the journey!”
