Oil and Cold Wax on Panel

A Facebook fan of mine had this to say about this painting, “The picture with the Raven and the jar makes me think of the story from the Æesop’s Fables about the Raven who thirst, but not far enough beak to reach down to the surface of the water in the jar. But it can find advice, for by finding the pebbles which it put in the jar so the water level rises to the level that makes it possible for him to drink!”

The clever raven has always intrigued me.
