Facing Fear

40″ x 30″

Oil on panel

Quite often my still life paintings have subliminal meanings. “Facing Fear” is one of those paintings. Over the past 10 years I’ve had to stare fear in the face many times. I’ve learned that when fear is faced it generally flees. It may seem a bit cliche, but a beautiful diamond is made under pressure and a pearl is formed by irritation. And another thought I love, “A flower has to go through a lot of dirt before it can bloom.” Btw, I love ravens and think they are a good omen. ????
